Draft of Front Cover x)

This is my electronic draft of how I intended my front cover to look.
My initial idea was for the magazine to look basic, and to do so, I had a very simple dominant central image and then just had information on one article. My reasons for having this, is that I feel, because my target audience is teenagers, they are more intrigued by images than by words, therefore the use of a large dominant central image means that the potential buyer will be attracted to this magazine and will not get "bombarded" with lots of information by the contents of the cover.

In this plan I didn't have a box for the competition advertisement, my reason for this is because at the time, I didn't have the idea of combining music and fashion. That idea came later on in the research and planning stage.

Rejected Images for Front Cover.

These 3 photos were the potential images for the Front Cover of NeWave. Here are my reasons for rejecting these images...
With this image i felt that the long-shot of the entire body wasn't simple enough for the front cover, I really only wanted a close-up of the face so that when a potential buyer was to see the cover, they wouldn't have so much to focus on, therefore sustain interest.
The problem with this photo is that I didn't think the face was right for the image I was trying to portray about the artist. Also, as funny looking as this image is, it didn't look all that professional, which was my main aim in creating this magazine.
I didn't feel this image portrayed the genre of the magazine well. I think that this image would have given the magazine a more "emo" and depressing look about it and my magazine is for "party-go-ers".

NeWave Evaluation x)

I was intending to have a voice over for the evaluation questions, however due to problems with programme support or whatever, I had to type up the answers for the powerpoint.
Sorry.

My Pre-lim task ... (Task 2)

This is my pre-lim task, which was to create a front cover for a school magazine. This was a very poor attempt to create a front cover. I feel this doesn't look professional because it is "boxy" and unstructured. My attempt at photoshopping the image isn't very successful, it doesn't look realistic and my second image looks out of place and looks like it was randomly put there. My tagline isn't very catchy and doesn't have much appeal and the puffs used aren't very clever or intriguing. Overall this is clearly a beginners attempt and I feel I have improved dramatically in my Coursework!

Me and My Mag x)

My name is Hannah Jones(HanBan). I'm 17 and I'm in St Andrews 6th Form, studying Media, Film, Drama and English. My AS Media Magazine is a magazine named NeWave. This magazine is about new music in the "teen scene" featuring bands like Paramore ... Fallout Boy ... Kids in Glass Houses etc. However, it is also mixed with a style genre using such brands as Paint The Stars ... Babycakes . This is because it will make this magazine a more unique product. My target audience for this is the more mature teenager (ages 16-21), who are interested in the newer music scene, mostly Nu Rave and Nu Rock...

Thanks, Hannah :)
